THE MISSION OF CITY IMPACT IS TO SHARE THE MESSAGE OF HOPE AND RECONCILIATION THROUGH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, TO YOUTH, FAMILIES AND THE OTHER LIVES WE TOUCH; EARNING THE RIGHT TO MEET THEIR SPIRITUAL, EDUCATIONAL, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL NEEDS THROUGH OUTREACH PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON ALL ETHNIC GROUPS.
Student and Family Empowerment (SAFE) provides a safety net of one-on-one school-based counseling for Special Education students in elementary, middle and high schools who face emotional and social challenges identified in their IndividualizedEducational Plan (IEP). Individual goals were reviewed and evaluated every quarter (9 weeks). 814 Special Education students were assisted weekly and their counseling sessions focused on meeting the Social/Emotional goals stated in their Individualized Education Plan.Transformation Works, a collaboration with local law enforcement agencies that provided case management services to gang involved youth and youth at high-risk for gang involvement (ages 12 - 24). Participants received one-to-one interventions and worked with their case manager to set individual goals, maximize personal strengths and address barriers to success. In addition, family members were provided support, resources and referrals for services. 78 youth were provided intensive case management services to help deter them away from high-risk and gang activity. 54 family members were provided with support and resources.City Impact's Fillmore Elementary, Middle School and High School Counseling is comprehensive program that effectively provided therapeutic counseling services to targeted youth; referred by school personnel. The program combined prevention and intervention services through evidence-based programs, practices and strategies. 57 students were seen at Fillmore Elementary, Middle and High School.
