HELPING OUR COMMUNITY ESTABLISH PATHWAYS OUT OF POVERTY THROUGH ADVOCACY, PARTNERSHIPS, AND SERVICES THAT PROMOTE DIGNITY AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY.

THE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM TEACHES LIFE-SKILLS TO YOUTH THAT ARE INCARCERATED SO THEY MAY GAIN NECESSARY SKILLS TO REMAIN OUTSIDE THE PRISON SYSTEM IN THE FUTURE.
HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE & ENERGY CRISIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A DIRECT PAYMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES AND DEVELOPMENT TO AN ELIGIBLE FAMILY'S UTILITY BILL TO HELP OFFSET THE COST OF HEATING OR COOLING THEIR HOME. ENERGY CRISIS INTERVENTION PROGRAM PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS THAT ARE IN A CRISIS SITUATION. EXAMPLES INCLUDE A HOUSEHOLD THAT HAS RECEIVED A DISCONNECTION NOTICE OR SERVICE TERMINATION BY THEIR UTILITY COMPANY OR AN ENERGY-RELATED CRISIS OF LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY EXISTS IN TEH APPLICANT'S HOUSEHOLD.
THE WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM REDUCES THE HEATING AND COOLING COSTS FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIIES BY IMPROVING THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THEIR HOME AND ENSURING THEIR HEALTH AND SAFETY. AMONG LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS, THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THOSE WITH ELDERLY RESIDENTS, INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES, AND FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN. INCLUDED IN THIS PROGRAM IS THE EDISON REFRIGERATOR PORTION WHERE QUALIFIED HOMES ARE GIVEN REPLACEMENT, ENERGY EFFICIENT REFRIGERATORS AND THE OLD ONES ARE RECYCLED.
