The Pacific Grove Public Library Foundation was established as non-profit public benefit corporation under California law. The Foundation's purpose is to develop a source of long-term financial support for the Pacific Grove Public Library that will supplement, but not supplant, public funding for the library.
Fiscal: The Foundation continued with the $2.5 million dollar campaign to fund a comprehensive library remodel and renewal project scheduled to begin in 2020. The seed money for this undertaking was $586,000 in funds that had been previously raised for library improvements and was supplemented by community donations, grants and a pledge from the City of Pacific Grove.Partnerships: The Foundation worked with the City of Pacific Grove, the Friends of the Pacific Grove Public Library, the Community Foundation of Monterey County and various community organizations and volunteers in a successful campaign to raise the necessary funds for the library renewal project.Board: the Foundation Board retained all the previous year members. It worked diligently with City personnel, architects and attorneys to ensure all aspects of the library renewal projects as well as the boards policies and positions were complete and accurate.
