Organizations Filed Purposes: OUR MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES AND LEARNING OF GIRLS AND BOYS WORLDWIDE THROUGH THOUGHTFUL RESEARCH, PRACTICE, AND PARTNERSHIP. CONTINUTED ON SCHEDULE O.SCHOOL-TO-SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL (STS) IS AN INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF GIRLS, BOYS, AND THEIR COMMUNITIES WORLDWIDE THROUGH ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION. WE FOCUS ON CREATING CONDITIONS OF SUCCESS FOR CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD. LAST YEAR, WE PARTNERED WITH INDIVIDUALS, GOVERNMENT MINISTRIES, NONGOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS, PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS, AND RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS IN 25 COUNTRIES TO ASSIST WITH RESEARCH, EVALUATION, CURRICULUM, TRAINING, AND STRATEGIC PLANNING.

OUR MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES AND LEARNING OF GIRLS AND BOYS WORLDWIDE THROUGH THOUGHTFUL RESEARCH, PRACTICE, AND PARTNERSHIP.

ACCELERE!1 IS A MULTI-YEAR PROJECT THAT AIMS TO IMPROVE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES FOR GIRLS AND BOYS IN SELECT PROVINCES OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (DRC) AND SUPPORTS THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DRC'S GOALS FOR THE EDUCATION SECTOR: ACCESS, QUALITY, AND GOVERNANCE. STS LED THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIAGNOSTIC AND ASSESSMENT TOOLS UNDER RESULT 1.4: QUALITY OF EDUCATION ENVIRONMENTS IMPROVED, RESULT 2.L: QUALITY OF INSTRUCTION AT THE PRIMARY LEVEL IMPROVED, RESULT 2.2: TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS USED IN THE CLASSROOM EFFECTIVELY, AND RESULT 3.1: DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF POLICIES FOR IMPROVED ACCESS AND LEARNING STRENGTHENED. STS'S WORK INCLUDED THE CONCEPTUALIZING, ADAPTING, AND REFINING ASSESSMENT TOOLS; DEVELOPING GUIDES FOR THE USE OF THESE TOOLS; TRAINING STAFF AND OTHER DATA COLLECTING AGENTS ACCORDINGLY; OVERSEEING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THESE ASSESSMENTS; AND LEADING DATA ANALYSIS AND FINDINGS COMPILATION. IN ADDITION, STS LED THE EXECUTION OF THE PROJECT'S OPERATIONS RESEARCH AGENDA AND OVERWISE GENERALLY CONTRIBUTED TO PLANNING AND COORDINATION. STS'S EFFORTS SUPPORTED COHESION IN ALL PROJECT DATA COLLECTION ANALYSIS AS WELL AS THE USE OF DATA IN ADAPTING PROJECT ACTIVITIES. STS WORKED TO STRENGTHEN LOCAL CAPACITY AND INFUSED A COLLABORATION, LEARNING, AND ADAPTING (CLA) APPROACH THROUGHOUT ITS WORK.

THE MALI SELECTED INTEGRATED READING ACTIVITY (SIRA) IS A FIVE (5) YEAR ACTIVITY TO IMPROVE READING OUTCOMES FOR MALIAN STUDENTS IN GRADES ONE AND TWO IN THE TARGET REGIONS. THIS ACTIVITY ALSO AIMS TO REINFORCE AND STRENGTHEN THE GOVERNMENT OF MALI/MINISTRY OF EDUCATION CAPACITY TO ESTABLISH DELIVERY SYSTEMS IN A MANNER THAT FOSTERS SUSTAINABILITY. IN CONTRAST TO PRIOR PROGRAMMING FINANCED BY USAID/MALI, THIS ACTIVITY SUPPORTS THE USE OF BAMANANKAN (LOCAL LANGUAGE) IN ALL INTERVENTION SCHOOL TYPES. STS IS DRAWING ON ITS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH EVALUATION IN GENERAL AND EGRA IN PARTICULAR TO LEAD THE CAPACITY-BUILDING OF MEN STRUCTURES AT THE REGIONAL (AE) AND DISTRICT (CAP) LEVELS SO THEY ARE ABLE TO IMPLEMENT BI-ANNUAL TESTING USING EGRA FOR THEIR OWN MANAGEMENT AND DECISIONMAKING PURPOSES. STS IS WORKING IN CLOSE COLLABORATION WITH THE NATIONAL DIRECTORATE OF PEDAGOGY, IN PARTICULAR ITS PEDAGOGICAL RESEARCH AND EVALUATION DIVISION, SO THAT STAFF MEMBERS FROM THE CENTRAL MINISTRY ARE TRAINED AS TRAINERS AND IN THE INTEREST OF SUSTAINABILITY, ABLE TO SUPPORT THE AES ONCE THE PROJECT HAS ENDED. IN ADDITION, STS IS SUPPORTING THE SIRA RESEARCH AGENDA BY IMPLEMENTING THE BASELINE, MIDLINE AND ENDLINE STUDY AND ANNUAL TESTING OF PARENTAL KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES AND PRACTICES (KAP) REGARDING READING, WORKING IN COLLABORATION WITH OMAES.

FUNDED BY THE UNITED AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTED BY FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SCHOOL-TO-SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL AND THE UNIVERSITY OF ZAMBIA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, THE TRANSFORMING TEACHER EDUCATION ACTIVITY WILL GIVE MORE THAN 60 ZAMBIAN TEACHER EDUCATORS THE SKILLS TO DELIVER EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTION TO 9,000 COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS STUDYING TO BECOME PRIMARY GRADE TEACHERS, OVER A FIVE-YEAR PERIOD (202025). ACTIVITY GOAL IS TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN GOVERNMENT COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES BY: STRENGTHENING THE CAPACITY OF PRE-SERVICE TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTIONS TO DELIVER QUALITY LITERACY INSTRUCTIONS IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS; STANDARDIZE, ALIGN, AND LINK PRACTICAL, EVIDENCE-BASED TRAINING AND CONTENT WITH THE PRIMARY SCHOOL LITERACY CURRICULUM; EQUIP PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS IN COLLEGES OF EDUCATION AND UNIVERSITIES WITH SKILLS TO DELIVER QUALITY LITERACY INSTRUCTION IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS; AND ENGAGE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN PARTICIPATORY RESEARCH PROJECTS.
