OneFuture works to assure all students succeed in college, career, and life - expanding and enhancing the local workforce so that our youth and economy thrive.
- Led the development and implementation of the Coachella Valley Regional Plan for College and Career Success 2.0, a cross sector plan to improve opportunities for students across their educational journey from K-12 into college and jobs.- Operated 8 Alignment Teams implementing the Regional Plan for College and Career Success, engaging community partners to reduce barriers and increase opportunities by utilizing tactical plans to address long-term student outcomes. - OFCV Oversight- Business Engagement- K-12 Engagement- Data- Scholarship/Financial Aid- Opportunity Youth and Young Adult-College/Postsecondary Completion- Industry Councils- Since 2009, approx. 45 local non-profits and constituents aligned scholarship giving in partnership with OFCV collaborating on a community goal of college completion and a high quality local workforce. To-date a total of $16 mil in scholarships was awarded to 2,327 low income students in the Coachella Valley.- Increased valley-wide FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) completion from 48% in 2011 to 67% in 2019. By comparison, the 2019 FAFSA completion rate in California was 56% and 57% nationally.- 100% of OFCV scholars completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for state and federal aid for college.- 91% of 2019 scholars successfully completed their first year of college. - 100% of 2019 scholars completed a college & career plan and a 1-1 meeting with a counselor.Sustained career academies across all three school districts at 47 academies and pathways and increased number of students served from 6,500 to 8,366. This is an increase from 5 career academies and pathways serving 600 students in 2016.- Since 2010, provided 172 college juniors and senior with full time, paid summer internships in healthcare, linking them to local employers for a total of $603,000 wages.- Launched inaugural Male Student Leadership Summit for 105 8th grade boys in a regional approach to address disparities in college readiness among our valley's young men.- Launched the Behavioral Health Alignment Team to increase the number of students pursuing behavioral health careers. Expanded a 'Mindfully Resilient' curriculum, being piloted in local high school health academies to educate students on adolescent emotions, health and unhealthy relationship, bullying, anger management, anxiety and panic attacks, depression & suicide, SafeHouse app, substance abuse, educational pathways to behavioral health jobs.- Adopted a Coachella Valley wide set of Essential Skills for local students in partnership with employers and educators across the region.
