PALO ALTO PARTNERS IN EDUCATION (PIE) RAISES MONEY FROM PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY TO PROVIDE ALL PALO ALTO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS AN EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE BEYOND WHAT IS POSSIBLE WITH PUBLIC FUNDING. PIE'S VOLUNTEERS, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS, SCHOOLS, AND THE COMMUNITY, WILL ENSURE EVERY STUDENT IN THE PALO ALTO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT EXPERIENCES AN ENRICHED AND FULFILLING EDUCATION.
PALO ALTO PARTNERS IN EDUCATION (PIE) RAISES MONEY TO PROVIDE ALL PALO ALTO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS AN EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE BEYOND WHAT IS POSSIBLE WITH PUBLIC FUNDING.
PALO ALTO PARTNERS IN EDUCATION (PIE) REMAINS THE ONLY NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEVOTED EXCLUSIVELY TO RAISING MONEY FOR ALL PALO ALTO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (PAUSD) SCHOOLS, AND THE ONLY ONE WHOSE CONTRIBUTIONS CAN PAY FOR ADDITIONAL AND MUCH NEEDED PAUSD TEACHERS AND STAFF. DUE IN LARGE PART TO DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS, PIE'S OPERATING EXPENSES CONTINUE TO BE EXTREMELY LOW, ALLOWING OVER 93% OF DONATIONS TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE SCHOOLS.THROUGHOUT EVERY CHILD'S EDUCATIONAL CAREER IN PALO ALTO SCHOOLS, PIE'S FUNDING PROVIDES ENRICHMENT AND SUPPORT IN THREE GENERAL CATEGORIES STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH), THE ARTS, AND WELLNESS & SUPPORT. THE PRINCIPAL OF EACH SCHOOL DIRECTS THE DONATED DOLLARS WITHIN THESE CATEGORIES TO BEST SERVE THEIR SPECIFIC STUDENTS. MORE SPECIFICALLY AT EACH SCHOOL LEVEL, PIE FUNDS THE FOLLOWING:ELEMENTARY SCHOOLSTEM: INSTRUCTORS WHOSE HANDS-ON LESSONS AND INNOVATIVE TEACHING METHODS BUILD KEY SKILLS AND IGNITE STUDENT INTEREST IN STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH). MANY SCHOOLS HOST POPULAR SCIENCE UNITS FROM JUNIOR MUSEUM AND ZOO.THE ARTS: SPECTRA ART, MUSIC, THEATER, AND OTHER PERFORMING ARTS CLASSES ENSURE A CREATIVE AND WELL-ROUNDED CURRICULUM.WELLNESS & SUPPORT: STAFF, INCLUDING CLASSROOM AIDES, INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANTS, MATH SPECIALISTS, AND COUNSELORS, WHO FOSTER, ENRICH, AND HELP DIFFERENTIATE TEACHING AND LEARNING FOR ALL STUDENTS.MIDDLE SCHOOLSTEM AND THE ARTS: COMPELLING AND PRACTICAL ELECTIVES FOCUSED ON STEM AND THE ARTS, SUCH AS COMPUTER PROGRAMMING, BIOTECHNOLOGY, CREATIVE WRITING, STAGE TECHNOLOGY, AND MUSIC, SPARK STUDENTS' INTEREST AND BUILD ESSENTIAL 21ST CENTURY SKILLS.WELLNESS & SUPPORT: COUNSELORS, MENTORS, AND ADVISORS SUPPORT SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING FOR ALL STUDENTS, AS WELL AS PROVIDE ACADEMIC GUIDANCE, CHARACTER EDUCATION, ONLINE SAFETY, AND NEXT-GRADE TRANSITION PROGRAMS. HIGH SCHOOLSTEM AND THE ARTS: ENGAGING ELECTIVES FOCUSED ON STEM AND THE ARTS, INCLUDING COMPUTER SCIENCE, GRAPHIC DESIGN, ENGINEERING AND BIOTECHNOLOGY, CAPTIVATE STUDENTS AND BUILD CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS.WELLNESS AND SUPPORT: COUNSELORS, MENTORS, AND ADVISORS OFFER EMOTIONAL AND ACADEMIC GUIDANCE AS WELL AS HELP BUILD STUDENT RESILIENCE. PIE ALSO FUNDS COLLEGE AND CAREER COUNSELING ADVISORS AND RESOURCE PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING TO HELP ALL STUDENTS CHOOSE AMONG A VARIETY OF PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS AND TO PLAN WISELY FOR THE FUTURE.
