In August 2014, Horizon Institute sponsored three projects in El Salvador. A delegation of American children and adults traveled to El Salvador. In partnership with CIS - Centro de Intercambio y Solidaridad. The projects were done by sixteen volunteers from California who paid for their own travel expenses and raised funds for most of these projects. These projects were: 1) Established a women's co-op business to sustain their community consisting of an indigo dying business. 2) Established a 4 laptop computer lab, which was painted, equipped with color printers, ink cartridges, realms of paper and 2 years wifi. The computer lab is now benefiting the women's co-op and their children in Isla La Tasajera, La Paz. 3) Built a shelter and vegetable garden in a child care center in La Libertad, in partnership with SALEF and Cooperative and Communal development of El Salvador (CORDES).
