Organizations Filed Purposes:
Garden School Foundation provides in-depth garden-based education to youth at Title I schools in Los Angeles, strengthening connections between food justice, environmental awareness, and community health. We currently serve eight Title I elementary schools, now reaching over 3,000 students and their families each year.
Garden School Foundations primary Seed to Table program of hands-on, garden-based education served 3,193 students in eight Title I elementary schools during the 2019-20 School Year. The program included Standards-aligned lessons in gardening, ecology, science, nutrition, and cooking. GSF also hosted 716 volunteers (school families, community members, service organizations, and corporate groups), at our monthly Community Garden Days and other events representing 2,173 hours of volunteer support. GSF also hosted 13 interns representing 1,475 hours of volunteer intern support for a total of 729 additional individuals served.
