Organizations Filed Purposes: WJC EMPOWERS PEOPLE TO STRENGTHEN THEIR COMMUNITIES BY GROWING THE CONFLICT RESOLUTION SKILLS AND CAPACITY OF YOUTH, EDUCATORS, SCHOOLS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND ANTI- BIAS EDUCATION CONFLICT RESOLUTION EDUCATION PROGRAMS - WJC EMPOWERS YOUNG PEOPLE AND EDUCATORS TO BECOME THE CONFLICT MEDIATORS AND COMMUNITY BUILDERS OF THE FUTURE. WJC RUNS THREE MAIN CONFLICT RESOLUTIONS EDUCATION PROGRAMS: ABCS OF CONFLICT (30-HOUR IN-DEPTH ACCREDITED TRAINING), PEER MEDIATION INVITATION (THE REGIONAL "MOCK TRIAL" MASTERS OF MEDITATION), AND SCHOOL TOOLS (INTERACTIVE ONLINE CURRICULUM PORTAL). FOR STUDENTS, THESE PROGRAMS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO BUILD CONFIDENCE, DEVELOP SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING FLUENCY, INCREASE COMMUNICATION SKILLS, AND PROVIDE ALTERNATIVES TO TRADITIONAL SCHOOL DISCIPLE. FOR EDUCATORS, THESE PROGRAMS PROVIDE PRACTICAL SKILL-BUILDING IN CONFLICT RESOLUTION EDUCATION, PEER MEDIATION PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION, RESTORATIVE JUSTICE PRACTICES, ANTI-BULLYING TECHNIQUES AND IMPLICIT BIAS TRAINING. IN 2019, SCHOOL TOOLS REACHED MORE THAN 22,000 UNIQUE VIEWERS. ABCS OF CONFLICT AND PEER MEDITATION INVITATIONAL REACHED MORE THAN 200 STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS ACROSS 61 SCHOOLS AND 23 SCHOOL DISTRICTS.ANTI-BIAS EDUCATION - WJC'S ANTI-BIAS EDUCATION PROGRAMS USE THE POWER OF THE ARTS AND THE ART OF MEDIATION TO GIVE STUDENTS SKILLS TO BUILD CONFIDENCE, BECOME ADEPT AT NAVIGATING CONFLICT, AND DEVELOP EMPATHY ACROSS SOCIAL, RACIAL, AND ECONOMIC DIFFERENCES. WJC RUNS THREE MAIN ANTI-BIAS PROGRAMS: COMPASSION PLAYS (LIVING THEATER AS A TOOL TO FACILITATE INTER-GROUP DIALOGUE), CREATING BIAS-FREE CLASSROOMS (IMPROV THEATER AS A TOOL TO CREATE LEARNING LABORATORY FOR EDUCATORS), AND ACTING FOR SOCIAL CHANGE (YEAR-LONG SERVICE LEARNING AT LACHSA). FOR STUDENTS, THESE PROGRAMS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO FIND THEIR VOICE AND GRAPPLE WITH POLARIZING AND DIVISIVE ISSUES IN A SAFE, PROFESSIONALLY FACILITATED ATMOSPHERE. FOR EDUCATORS, THESE PROGRAMS EMPOWER ADULTS TO RECOGNIZE AND INTERVENE IN BIAS AND BULLYING THAT UNDERMINES EFFECTIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS. IN 2019, COMPASSION PLAYS REACHED NEARLY 1,500 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IN 21 SCHOOLS ACROSS 10 SCHOOL DISTRICTS. CREATING BIAS FEE CLASSROOMS AND ACTING FOR SOCIAL CHANGE COLLECTIVELY REACHED 378 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IN 31 SCHOOLS IN 4 SCHOOL DISTRICTS.

WJC CAMPUS - WJC PROVIDES A HOME TO 14 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, MANY OF WHICH FOCUS ON ADVANCING THE WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. SEVERAL ORGANIZATIONS USE MEDIATION, MINDFULNESS, RESTORATIVE, JUSTICE AND THE ARTS IN THEIR WORK. EACH ORGANIZATION RECEIVES BELOW MARKET RENT, ACCESS TO MEETING SPACE AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR CO-LEARNING WITH OTHER CAMPUS RESIDENTS, INCLUDING WJC. THE CAMPUS IS LOCATED IN FOUR HISTORIC BUILDINGS NEXT TO THE U.S. COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE NINTH CIRCUIT. WJC'S MAIN BUILDING, THE MAXWELL HOUSE, ALSO HOSTED NEARLY 100 NON-PROFIT EVENTS FOR WHICH REDUCED RENTAL RATES WERE OFFERED AND WHICH BENEFITED A WIDE RANGE OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WITH A MULTIPLICITY OF MISSIONS.
