Organizations Filed Purposes: Founded in 1970, UCCR's mission is to create partnerships that provide positive life-changing experiences. Our approach is two-fold: to fully support your program while you and your group are enjoying one of our facilities, and to provide excellence in the stewardship of the properties with which we have been entrusted. UCCRs expertise in managing and operating camp and retreat property gives the owner organizations confidence that their facility has a steward who cares about their mission, as well as the missions of the groups we serve.EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMSIn addition to our site offerings, we have developed a strong and expanding program capability, highlighted by our educational component Web of Life Field (WOLF) School, which offers programs to K-12th grade students and their teachers. WOLF School offers 2-5 day residential outdoor science, living history and team building programs at several sites in California, as well as in-class presentations and naturalists for hire. UCCR 2019 Achievement: In 2019, Web of Life Field (WOLF) School provided quality outdoor environmental education, science, California history and teambuilding school programs to 4,174 of Californias K-12th grade students, as well as 815 teachers and chaperones, from 84 schools. WOLF School opened a new location, Camp Arroyo, in the fall of 2019. At Camp Arroyo WOLF served 890 students, 220 chaperones and teachers from 12 schools. WOLF also served 362 summer and winter day campers/youth Counselors In Training, 20 backpack campers, and 15 adult and youth family campers. This means we served a total of 5,446 children and 1045 adults in 2019. Highlights of 2019 included: Opening and operating at Camp Arroyo in Livermore. WOLF School/UCCR was excited to partner with East Bay Regional Parks and The Taylor Family Foundation to manage, operate and provide WOLF School programming at Camp Arroyo.Developing and delivering new summer camp programs for local Santa Cruz area families--For the first time we offered summer nature day camp for 3 weeks at Monte Toyon Fellers Campground. Summer campers participated in nature and recreation-based activities based out of Fellers Campground, hiked to Soquel Creek located in The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park, and enjoyed time at Seacliff State Beach. WOLF School expanded on its backpacking camp that had 10 participants and developed an Advanced Backpacking Camp where 9 hearty kids and their fearless counselors hiked over 25 miles from Portola Redwoods State Park to Waddell Creek State Beach.Continuing with its partnership with Rocketship Bay Area Elementary Charter Schools, WOLF continued to provide environmental education to their 4th and 6th grade students.
