Organizations Filed Purposes:
To develop music literacy, healthy vocal technique, and choral artistry through excellence in music education, exceptional choral productions, and collaborative cultural arts experiences, to enrich our diverse community.
Music Classes: Cantabella has two 10-week semesters each year, training children in four major divisions: (1) CTC: Cantabella Training Choir classes are taught in the Kodály approach for children K-5th grades. There are three levels of CTC classes: CTC-1, CTC-2, and CTC-3. CC: (2) The Children's Choir is composed of choristers in the 5th-8th grades. (3) CH: The Chamber Choir is composed of advanced SATB choristers in the 7th-12th grades. (4) HC: The Honors Choir is an auditioned treble choir for choristers in the 7th-12th grades. For the first semester for the year ended 6/30/20, Cantabella held 18 weekly classes, serving a total of 214 students. Due to Covid restrictions, much of the second semester classes were held via Zoom. There were also 18 weekly classes for 232 students during that second semester.
Special classes: Summer camps are offered to students to maintain their singing skills over the summer. They are one week in duration.
Festivals: Depending on availability, Cantabella will participate in various music festivals. These range from local festivals to international festivals all over the world. Cantabella has participated in festivals in China, Japan and Oregon.
