Organizations Filed Purposes:
To serve the various communities in which the union members of local unions affiliated with the Joint Council of Teamsters 42 reside, as well as other communities where teamster members reside by promoting the welfare of teamster members and other persons, generally who have financial, medical, or social needs. Said purpose shall be served by the following, and other means: Contributions to charitable organizations which are tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code which serve the communities of the Teamsters' membership and the rendering of financial or other assistance to needy or disabled teamster members.
To provide donations to other charities in communities where Teamster families reside and scholarships to family members of Teamsters.
The Toy Drive and Charity Golf events grossed $153,925 and netted $123,033. Out of these funds and the other contributions generated in the past, donations of $128,500 were paid to 15 charitable organizations and 22 scholarship winners. The Organization also donated $14,750 which included purchased toys and cash to the Downey Park & Recreation toy drive.
