Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the Museum is to (1) collect, preserve, interpret and exhibit films and videos by independent and diverse filmmakers; (2) provide communities with access to such films and videos to be used as educational resources, and; (3) to provide support, develop and improve all aspects of filmmaking/video production to improve the status and portrayal of actors, filmmakers and story-tellers at large by providing such actors, filmmakers and storytellers through financial, educational, and any other production services needed to meet this support.
During 2019, the Museum began implementing its planned activities. In June 2019, the Museum was recognized as a public charity exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). During December 2019, the Museum received a donation of twenty films.
