COMMITMENT TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA CITIZENS BY MOBILIZING SELF SUFFICIENCY AND PROVIDING AFFORDABLE ACCESS TO FASHION, SEWING, AND BUSINESS EDUCATION WHILE ENCOURAGING THE GROWTH OF THE CREATIVE ECONOMY IN ORDER TO FOSTER A HEALTHY, PROSPEROUS, CULTURALLY RICH AND THRIVING COMMUNITY.
PROVIDES AFFORDABLE ACCESS TO FASHION, SEWING AND BUSINESS EDUCATION. ENCOURAGING GROWTH OF THE CREATIVE ECONOMY, FOSTERING A HEALTHY, PROSPEROUS, CULTURALLY RICH COMMUNITY.
YOUTH SEWING AND FASHION DESIGN CLASSES. SEWING AND DESIGN WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS ARE THE GREATEST SOURCE OF COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND SUPPORT THAT REDDING FASHION ALLIANCE OFFERS. IN 2019 WE SERVED 100 CHILDREN AGES 7-17 YEARS OF AGE, AS WELL AS 25 ADULTS THROUGH THESE CLASSES. SEWING SCHOLARSHIPS PROVIDED INCOME FOR FAMILIES WHOSE FINANCIAL LIMITATIONS WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE PROHIBITED THEM FROM PARTICIPATION. THESE CLASSES OFFER A SERVICE THAT IS NOT READITY AVAILABLE INT HE REDDING COMMUNITY. WE ARE CONTINUING TO SEE GROWTH IN ATTENDANCE AS WELL AS REVENUE.
REDDING FASHION WEEK - THIS IS A ANNUAL WEEK LONG EVENT. IT IS THE LARGEST SINGLE FUNDRAISER FOR REDDING FASHION ALLIANCE. IN ADDITION TO ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY WIDE EVENTS. IN 2019 WE HOSTED THREE EVENTS TO BRING IN FUNDS FOR ONGOING OPERATION SUPPORTING OUR EMERGING DESIGNER FUND AND SEWING SCHOLARSHIP FUND. THE FASHION SHOW GALA REPRESENTED TWELVE LOCAL DESIGNERS. THE RUNWAY SHOW SAW 63 AMAZING RUNWAY LOOKS. THE EVENT WAS SOLD OUT WITH OVER 200 ATTENDING. A MID WEEK RETAIL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE FEATURED LOCAL BUSINESSES THAT OFFERED FASHION WEEK SPECIALS FOR CUSTOMERS. CLOSING NIGHT WAS HEALD AT THE REDDING TURTLE BAY MUSEUM. IT FEATUED AN EXHIBIT OF ICONIC FASHIONS FROM AMERICAN DESIGNERS. THIS EVENT IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE COMMUNITY, A MAIN PART OF THE CLUTURAL DISTRUCT IN OUR CITY.
OUR RETAIL SPACE - INCOME FROM SALES WITHIN THE RETAIL SPACE PROVIDED BY REDDING FASHION ALLIANCE MAKES. DESIGNERS SELL THEIR GOODS THROUGH A LOW PERCENTAGE CONSIGNMENT MODEL. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE FASHION DESIGN PROCESS ESPECIALLY FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE JUST STARTING OUT, HAVE LIMITED FINANCES, AS WELL AS LIMITED ACCESS TO RETAIL MARKETS. IT PROVIDES A TEST VENUE FOR THEIR GOODS. THIS VENUE GIVES STHE COMMUNITY THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOP LOCALLY. PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY GOODS FOR THE COMMUNITY OF REDDING. HELPING TO FOSTER AN ECONOMICALLY PROSPEROUS COMMUNITY.
