CDE Foundation works as a trusted partner with state education leaders and entities to create, resource, and implement solutions that result in a strong and valued public education system that serves every student in California.
To support the California Department of Education and to advocate for the whole child approach to education.
CDE Foundation has various other programs as follows:The California Alliance for Next Generation Science Standards (CA4NGSS):The CA4NGSS facilitates collaboration among education, business, government, and community leaders to support effective and timely implementation of NGSS throughout California. Alliance members are organizations representing Pre-K-12, college and university educators and administrators, science museums and centers, after school programs, professional learning providers, parents, students, businesses, public policymakers, and philanthropy.Family Engagement and the Local Control Accountability Plan:During the 2016-17 school year, CDE Foundation launched the Engaging Families in the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Development Process Initiative through funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. This initiative is grounded in the goals and outcomes of a research-based framework, Dual Capacity Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships that is designed to build capacity among district leaders, educators and families to partner with one another around student success and school improvement.The District Innovation and Leadership for Early Education (DIAL EE):The District Innovation and Leadership for Early Education (DIAL EE) Initiative utilizes content experts, data, research, and a continuous improvement process to assist Districts with aligning early education and K12 systems to improve outcomes for all children preschool through 5th grade.California Teacher Residency Lab:The California Teacher Residency Lab (The Lab) fosters a community of education trailblazers working to transform teacher preparation for high-need fields and schools. Equity and evidence-based support helps ensure new teachers are ready to teach on day one.
