The Mission of the Riverside County Philharmonic is to advance the enjoyment and appreciation of symphonic music to the diverse communities in the Inland Southern California region through performances and innovative programs that challenge, educate, enrich, & entertain.
The Philharmonic brings the experience of live, classical music to local K-12 students through our Adventures in Music program. Established in 1998, AIM increases local students' abilities to perceive and comprehend music. The Philharmonic encourages students to use those perceptions and ideas in the appreciation of all styles of music, including symphonic by letting them experience concerts with a live orchestra or enjoy trios of Philharmonic musicians in their schools. More than 100,000 students in over 90 schools have participated in this program absolutely free.
The Riverside County Philharmonic mission is to make our musical performances available to as many people as possible. We are especially committed to reaching underserved audiences including low income and frail elderly, disabled children and adults and victims of domestic violence. This is why the board of directors and the orchestra established our Heartstrings program in 1999. Through Heartstrings, more than 20,000 beneficiaries of local charity groups have been able to experience (free of charge) powerful symphonic music as guests at Riverside County Philharmonic Masterworks concerts.
THE ORCHESTRA PERFORMS UP TO FOUR SATURDAY EVENING CONCERTS EACH SEASON AND IS IN HIGH DEMAND THROUGHOUT THE REGION. IT ALSO PERFORMS THE ANNUAL CONCERT FOR HEROES AT RIVERSIDE'S NATIONAL CEMETARY AS PART OF THE FOURTH OF JULY OBSERVANCES. THE SATURDAY EVENING CONCERTS REACH AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 3,700 PEOPLE EACH SEASON. ORGANIZERS OF THE CONCERT FOR HEROES PROGRAM ESTIMATE THEIR ATTENDANCE AT APPROXIMATELY 8,500 PEOPLE.
