Organizations Filed Purposes:
It is the mission of the TCDS to be the recognized source for serving the needs and issues of its members and the dental community.
Continuing Education - This is a service provided by Tri-County Dental Society for its members and their office staff to help the members fulfill the continuing education requirements of the State of California. California requires that each dentist take 50 units of scientific continuing education units every two years in order to renew their dental license. The Society presents 10 to 20 continuing education units in programs each year.
Bulletin and postage - This category is mainly for processing the bulletins of the Society. The Bulletin is published bi-monthly. It serves as a newsletter to members with information on local issues, legislative items of interest to members, continuing education program announcements, and updates on current research in important dental interest areas
Committees and events organized for members - Peer Review Committee: This committee adjudicates and resolves disputes between member dentists and their patients concerning quality of care, appropriateness of care and utilization. There are 35 volunteer members on this committee and they resolved approximately 30 cases under review in 2015.Council on Community Health: This council provides volunteers to staff Give Kids A Smile Clinics during the month of February and to provide health education and oral health for the public.Other councils and committees include: Membership Committee, Ethics Committee, New Dentist Committee and Well Being Committee.
