Organizations Filed Purposes:
CYT is an after-school theater arts training program for students ages 4-18 that develops character and creativity and brings families and communities together by producing quality and wholesome family entertainment. CYT offers after-school classes in theater arts, Broadway-style musicals and performance opportunities, summer camps, and a high school youth leadership program (HYPE).
Students ages 8-18 enrolled in a class are able to participate in a Broadway style musical. In 2019-2020 287 student actors particiated in 4 Broadway style performances to a total audience size of 9353 people amongst the four shows. Our spring shows had to be cancelled.
Provided theater arts classes in 3 sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring) as an after school activity. Weekly core classes included drama, voice and dance. 430 unique students enrolled in classes during the 2019-20 season for a total of 777 enrollments. Each session culminates in a show case performance for friends and family.
CYT Sacramento provided 3 musical theater summer day camps for 228 youth ages 4-18. The week long camps focus on core theater art skills, including drama, voice and dance. At the end of camp, the campers perform a showcase demonstrating what they have learned during the week for family and friends.
