EDUCATION:-ORGANIZED ANNUAL, 2-DAY STATEWIDE CONFERENCE WITH A DAY-LONG PLENARY SESSION AND 13 CONCURRENT WORKSHOPS AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR LAND TRUSTS AND PUBLIC AGENCIES. -ORGANIZED OR PARTICIPATED IN NUMEROUS REGIONAL MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE STATE AT WHICH EDUCATION, INFORMATION, AND NETWORKING WERE THE FOCUS. -ORGANIZED AND OFFERED EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING MATERIALS ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS, SUCH AS FUNDRAISING, AND A SPECIAL SESSION FOR EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS TO COVER A VARIETY OF TOPICS.-MENTORED AND COACHED LAND TRUSTS, AND CONDUCTED ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENTS AS THEY PREPARED FOR ACCREDITATION; PROVIDED GUIDANCE AND MATERIALS REGARDING THEIR GENERAL OPERATIONS AND PRACTICES.-ASSISTED STATE AGENCY STAFF IN UNDERSTANDING HOW TO EVALUATE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.-PREPARED AND RELEASED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH TOOL KIT FOR LAND TRUSTS.-LAUNCHED A NEW STATEWIDE INITIATIVE - (TAKE IT OUTSIDE CALIFORNIA) DESIGNED TO GET CHILDREN AND ADULTS OUTSIDE TO ENJOY NATURE. MORE THAN 30 SEPARATE EVENTS WERE HELD STATEWIDE -- WITH MORE THAN 6,000 PARTICIPANTS.

LAW AND POLICY:-ORGANIZED THREE MEETINGS OF THE CONSERVATION LAW FORUM, A GATHERING OF ATTORNEYS AND CONSERVATION PRACTITIONERS TO DISCUSS CURRENT CASESAND EMERGING ISSUES FOR CONSERVATION.-PROVIDED SEVERAL LETTERS OF SUPPORT FOR BILLS RELATED TO LAND CONSERVATION.-SUPPORTED THE APPROPRIATION OF CAP AND TRADE FUNDS FOR CONSERVATION, INCLUDING FOREST HEALTH AND URBAN GREENING.-COMMUNICATION ABOUT EXISTING STATE LAW ON EASEMENT AMENDMENTS AND ON THE APPRAISAL PROCESS.

COMMUNICATIONS:-COMMUNICATIONS WITH MEMBERS, PARTNERS, AGENCIES AND OTHERS ON A WIDE VARIETY OF ISSUES RANGING FROM STATEWIDE ISSUES, CONSULTINGSERVICES AND CONSERVATION TRANSACTIONS TO COMMUNICATIONS IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS.-PROVIDED STATEWIDE ISSUES, NEWS, AND ASSISTANCE THROUGH MEETINGS, PHONE AND EMAIL.-PREPARED AND DISTRIBUTED EMAIL NEWSLETTERS TO MEMBERS AND PARTNERS.-COMMUNICATED ABOUT CONSERVATION ISSUES IN CALIFORNIA VIA SOCIAL MEDIA.-COMMUNICATED WITH FIVE AFFINITY GROUPS ABOUT TOPICS OF INTEREST, SUCH AS LAND STEWARDSHIP, RECREATION, AND CONSERVATION EDUCATION.-ASSISTED REGIONAL COUNCILS WITH COORDINATION OF EVENTS, ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CURRENT CONSERVATION ISSUES.-MADE PRESENTATIONS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND PUBLIC AGENCIES ABOUT A VARIETY OF LAND CONSERVATION PURPOSES.
