Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND CONDUCT RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES RELATIVE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROBATION INDUSTRY.
THE CORPORATION WILL SPEND APPROXIMATELY SEVENTY PERCENT (70%) OF ITS TIME AND RESOURCES TOWARD STANDARDIZED TRAINING OF PROBATION OFFICERS AND PERSONNEL, COURT PERSONNEL, OTHER TREATMENT PRACTITIONERS, AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL OUTSIDE OF PROBATION. THESE TRAINING SESSIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED BY CHIEF PROBATION OFFICERS, SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS AND NATIONAL EXPERTS ON AN ONGOING BASIS THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA. THE TRAINING WILL BE FOR A FEE TO TRAINEES AND WILL BE FUNDED BY COMMUNITY DONATIONS AS WELL AS DONATIONS RECEIVED THROUGH ANY FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES.THIRTY PERCENT (30%) OF THE CORPORATION'S TIME AND RESOURCES WILL GO TOWARD EDUCATION THROUGH PUBLISHED ARTICLES, SURVEYS AND OTHER MATERIALS TO PROMOTE THE USE OF BEST PRACTICES BY THE PROBATION AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS INDUSTRY. THESE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS WILL BE PREPARED BY SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS AND BE DISTRIBUTED ON AN ONGOING BASIS THROUGHOUT NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE DISSEMINATION OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS WILL BE FUNDED BY COMMUNITY DONATIONS AS WELL AS DONATIONS RECEIVED THROUGH ANY FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 225,000 FELONS IN CALIFORNIA UNDER PROBATION SUPERVISION. THE ABOVE ACTIVITIES WILL HAVE FAR REACHING EFFECTS INTO OUR COMMUNITIES BY CREATING A PROTOCOL FOR DEALING WITH OFFENDERS AND PROFESSIONALIZING THE PROBATION INDUSTRY, THEREBY ENSURING THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IN CALIFORNIA IS FAIR AND EQUITABLE REGARDLESS OF LOCATION. THIS WILL ENSURE IMPROVED PUBLIC SAFETY BY CREATING LOWER RECIDIVISM RATES AND THEREFORE LESS VICTIMIZATION.
