CHEAC promotes, protects, and works to improve the health of California's population. CHEAC's objective is to maximize local health departments' financial, organizational, and programmatic capacity to deliver local health services.

COVID-19 Advocacy & Resources:The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged LHDs and the state unlike any other emergency experienced in California. From the beginning upon the arrival of repatriation flights and the first reported COVID-19 cases, CHEAC has supported LHDs in their preparation and response activities, advocacy, and robust communications. CHEAC curated and distributed daily COVID-19 updates, established regular calls and a virtual community to facilitate best practice sharing and technical assistance efforts, and elevated the role of LHDs in providing input and consultation to state officials.
Provided different member services including, but not limited to, continous website development and providing regular news, reports and updates on the website.
Held annual meeting on October 9-11, 2019 at Westin Pasadena. 166 total attendees of which, 134 are registered members. Also held general membership and small county committee meeting all through out the year.
