Elica is dedicated to administering professional and compassionate health care that serve the needs of low-income, multi-ethnic populations throughout the greater Sacramento area, particularly immigrant communities, including Slavic and others.
Elica Health Centers ("Elica") operates professional and compassionate health homes for underserved populations who are confronted with barriers to accessing care.Elica is an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt Federally Qualified Health Center which provides integrated primary medical care, comprehensive dental/oral care, behavioral/mental healthcare, and enabling services to tens of thousands of diverse low-income patients (including a sizeable immigrant population) in the Sacramento region.Eighty-nine percent of Elicas patients are low-income (e.g., household incomes at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level). Elica's patients live in communities which have higher rates ofmedical, dental and behavioral/mental health disparities than low-income communities generally in either Sacramento County or California. Our patients struggle with chronic illnesses such as: diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and cancer.In 2019, Elica served 34,270 unduplicated patients24% more patients than in 2018. Elica has nine fixed-location health centers in Sacramento and Yolo counties, as well as four Health On Wheels mobile clinic vans which deliver onsite primary medical and dental services to low-income school students, homeless people at shelters and encampments, and the general public at community health events. Elica partners with organizations ranging from Kaiser Permanente, UC Davis Health and Dignity Health, to the San Juan and Twin Rivers unified school districts and the City of Sacramentos Pathways to Health + Home project which provides housing, healthcare and other services to chronically homeless people.
