Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF THE IMPACT FOUNDRY IS TO ENHANCE THE RESOURCES AND IMPROVE THE MANAGEMENT OF NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, PRIMARILY WITHIN CALIFORNIA'S NORTHERN CENTRAL VALLEY AND SIERRA NEVADA REGIONS.

SINCE 1989 IMPACT FOUNDRY (FORMERLY THE NONPROFIT RESOURCE CENTER) HAS BEEN THE CENTRALIZED, INNOVATIVE SOURCE OF INFORMATION AND SERVICES DEDICATED TO HELPING NONPROFITS SUCCEED ACROSS ALL STAGES OF THEIR ORGANIZATIONAL LIFE CYCLE. THE IMPACT FOUNDRY OFFERS STRATEGIES FOR ORGANIZATIONAL SUCCESS IN THE AREAS OF BOARD DEVELOPMENT, STAFF DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, FUNDRAISING, HR AND STAFF MANAGEMENT, AND VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT. KEY PROGRAMS DEVELOPED AND OFFERED BY IMPACT FOUNDRY STAFF AND FACULTY MEMBERS INCLUDES: "CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE, A 4-MONTH INTENSIVE BUSINESS TRAINING PROGRAM THAT FOCUSES ON REVENUE DIVERSIFICATION, OPERATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE, CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND BOARD GOVERNANCE. CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE PROVIDES MORE THAN 100 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION AND SUPPORT TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND YEAR-LONG ACCESS TO TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. "THE CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE UNIT, A DIVERSE TEAM OF STAFF AND CONSULTANTS WHO PROVIDE TRAINING AND PLANNING SUPPORT TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND PUBLIC AGENCIES. THE CIU ADDRESSES THE ADVERSE IMPACTS OF SYSTEMIC RACISM AND THE OVERLAPPING AND INTERDEPENDENT SYSTEMS OF DISCRIMINATION AND DISADVANTAGE, WITH A FOCUS ON EQUITABLY BUILDING RESILIENCE AND OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERYONE. "ANNUAL WHAT IF CONFERENCE BRINGS TOGETHER 1,000 ADVOCATES, PHILANTHROPISTS AND BUSINESS SUPPORTERS TO LEARN AND NETWORK ABOUT THE LATEST TRENDS IN NONPROFIT OPERATIONS AND IMPACT. IMPACT FOUNDRY'S YEARLONG PROGRAMMING FOR FYE 6/20/2020 ENGAGED MORE THAN 2,700 NONPROFIT BOARD MEMBERS, STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS TOTALING MORE THAN 25,000 EDUCATIONAL CONTACT HOURS. THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC FORCED CLOSURE OF THE IMPACT FOUNDRY'S PUBLIC RESOURCE CENTER FOR A PERIOD OF THREE MONTHS, REQUIRED THE ORGANIZATION TO PIVOT TRAINING PROGRAMS TO A VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT, AND TO WAIVE FEES FOR SOME ATTENDEES. AS A RESULT, ATTENDANCE GREW YEAR-OVER-YEAR EVEN WHERE REVENUE FELL. THE PANDEMIC CALLED FOR NEW TRAINING TOPICS THAT INCLUDED SAFETY TRAINING FOR THE PROPER RE-OPENING OF OFFICES; AN EMPHASIS ON SCENARIO PLANNING VS STRATEGIC PLANNING GIVEN THE PRECARIOUS AND VOLATILE NATURE OF COVID-19'S IMPACT ON ORGANIZATIONAL BUDGETS; TRIAGE OF FUNDING CRISES - HELPING NONPROFITS CONNECT WITH FUNDERS FOR EMERGENCY SUPPORT - AS WELL AS THE NEED TO ADD COMPONENTS TO EXISTING TRAINING SERIES TO CONSIDER SHORT-TERM AND LONG-TERM IMPACTS OF THE PANDEMIC. AND WHILE COVID-19 WAS DEVASTATING ON MANY LEVELS, IT ALSO PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES FOR INNOVATION WITHIN OUR TRAINING PROGRAMS. AS ONE GRADUATE OF THE CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE PROGRAM REPORTED: THE CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE PROGRAM IS THE MOST APPLICABLE AND USEFUL PLANNING MODEL I HAVE EVER ENGAGED IN. THE APPROACH ALLOWED US TO DO A DEEP DIVE AROUND FUNDING AND BUDGETING AS WELL AS CRITICALLY ANALYZE OUR OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE. THE INITIAL WORK ASKED OF US PROVIDED A ROAD MAP OF WHERE WE NEEDED TO GO AND THEN ANALYZE THE DATA IN A WAY THAT MADE SENSE TO OUR ORGANIZATION RATHER THAN APPLYING A "ONE SIZE FITS ALL" APPROACH. AS A RESULT, WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE A REFRAMING OUR HOW WE APPROACH OUR FUNDING STRUCTURE, BRING MUCH NEEDED CLARITY TO OUR BOARD AND STAFF ABOUT BUDGETING, AND TO CREATE A FOUNDATION WE CAN BUILD FROM. EVERY HOUR INVESTED IN THE WORK HAS RETURNED BENEFIT TO WEAVE AND THE SURVIVORS WE SERVE AND WILL CONTINUE TO FOR YEARS TO COME. JULIE BORNHOEFT, CHIEF STRATEGY & SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER, WEAVE
