IMQ is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of care provided to patients across the continuum of health care. IMQ offers a variety of educational, accreditation, consultation, and certification programs.
The Institute for Medical Quality's (IMQ) mission is to be an innovative leader in improving the quality of care provided to patients across the continuum of health care by encouraging, developing and implementing programs which effectively measure and improve the quality of care provided to people in California and beyond. In support of its mission, IMQ will conduct educational programs and will evaluate health care delivery. It will be responsive to diverse constituencies, and its outcomes will be patient-oriented and population based.
Ambulatory Care Review Program - IMQ accredits outpatient facilities, including surgicenters, fertility centers, medical groups, and medical offices by surveying them and reviewing their delivery of care systems. This accreditation program is recognized by the Medical Board of California and other state regulatory bodies. It is a CMS-approved Ambulatory Surgical Center accreditation program.
Corrections and Detention Health Care Program (CDHCP) - IMQ performs voluntary accreditation to health care services provided in both adult and juvenile detention facilities. Through an independent review of delivered health services, IMQ's accreditation supports detention facilities in providing constitutionally adequate and regulation-compliant health care services for inmates/detainees. the CDHCP services include California Code of Regulations, Title 15 inspections for Medical/Mental Health and Nutrition services.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Accreditation Program - IMQ accredits hospitals and healthcare related organizations throughout California to provide CME programs to physicians. IMQ also provides numerous CME programs.
