To improve the quality of life for at-risk youth and families of diverse backgrounds by offering multi-cultural counseling, support and outreach services and programs to help families to overcome adversity, to become empowered, and to succeed in life.
Sacramento County Department of Behavioral Health Services EPSDT Children's Mental Health program offers comprehensive counseling and support mental health services for youth who are Medi-Cal eligible 0 to 21 years of age. Referrals are accepted from throughout Sacramento County. Home visitation. We have a bilingual staff and a psychiatrist is available. There is no fee for service.
La Familia currently provides a variety of workforce development services, including subsidized employment, placement and internships for youth and adults. We provide various youth programs to encourage youth leadership and to address youth who are having challenges by providing case management, leadership activities, support services, counseling, workshops and groups to encourage healthy behaviors. We offer STEM and homework clubs to support educational attainment and other services to help with youth development. La Familia also offers community health programs, including evidenced based workshops on topics like nutrition, managing chronic disease and now COVID safety. We host various other community supportive services such as food distribution, classes in wellness and provide outreach to available services.
First 5 Sacramento - Birth & Beyond Community Response which offers early prevention support for pregnant women or families with newborns 0 to 5 years old. Effective Parenting classes/workshops for families with children 0 to 5 years old. A Crisis Intervention Specialist that works with persons coming to La Familia in need of crisis intervention and/or basic needs assistance.
