The purpose of the organization is to improve the health and quality of life of residents of the Greater Sacramento area by promoting bicycling for transportation and promoting more and safer bicycle trips
SABA provides public agencies, business and property owners, and nonprofit organizations with subject expertise on access for bicycling for proposed development projects. SABA provided written comments about potential traffic impacts on bicycling and the amount and configuration of bike parking for 30 residential and commercial development projects in the Sacramento region. As part of the project review process, SABA also took part in upwards of 20 meetings with developers and property owners to discuss issues related to bike access, and in 10 meetings with the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District about proposed development projects
SABA promotes bicycling as a means of everyday travel by creating opportunities for people to ride bikes more often Social rides SABA organized and led 15 casual group rides to visit craft breweries and other local destinations.. Bike Valet SABA provided valet bike parking services at more than 300 community and private events and parked a total of 15,000 bicyles Bike maintenace and repairs SABA mechanics repaired more than 650 bikes at 25 community events hosted by the North Natomas Transportation Management Association. Additionally, SABA repaired another 100 bikes in Rancho Cordova.
