HOUSING AND PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH, YOUNG PARENTS, AND CHILDREN: TUBMAN HOUSE, AUDRE'S EMPORIUM, THE DOORWAY, AND THE CREATION DISTRICT OFFER HOUSING AND WRAP AROUND SERVICES TO YOUTH AND CHILDREN. WTV'S TRANSITIONAL COMMUNITIES HOUSE 28 HOMELESS YOUTH (18 - 24 YEARS OF AGE) AND ALL THEIR CHILDREN. WTV PARTNERS WITH EACH TO GRAUATE ABLE TO SUSTAIN HOUSING, HEALTH AND WELLENESS, A STRONG PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIP, JOB, AND PROGRESS TOWARD CAREERS. THE CREATION DISTRICT DEVELOPS LEADERSHIP AND LIFE SKILLS THROUGH ART CENTERED WORKSHOPS THAT DRIVE ENGAGEMENT, BUILD COMMUNITY, AND IMPROVE WELLNNESS. SINCE 2003, 90 PERCENT OF TUBMAN'S CLIENTS EXIT TO STABLE HOUSING; 70 PERCENT ATTEND COLLEGE; 80 PERCENT ACCESS COUNSELING; 70 PERCENT WORK.
WAKING THE VILLAGE OPERATES ART BEAST CHILDREN'S STUDIO, A DROP IN ART STUDIO OFFERING CLASSES AND EXPLORATION SPACE TO CHILDREN 8 AND UNDER. IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING JOB OPPORTUNITIES TO WTV CLIENTS AND CONNECTING WTV'S PARENTS TO THE WIDE COMMUNITY OF PARENTS, ART BEAST GENERATES PROFITS TO SUSTAIN WTV'S HOMELESS PROGRAMS. ART BEAST ALSO SERVES THE WIDER COMMUNITY OF PARENTS, HOSTING REGULAR VISITS BY EARLY HEAD START, LOCAL HOMELESS SHELTERS, AND LOCAL PRESCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS SO THAT ALL OF SACRAMENTO'S CHILDREN MAY BE ART LITERATE AMD CONNECTED TO SELF-DIRECTED PLAY.
SERVICES FOR CHILDREN - WAKING THE VILLAGE OPERATES THE ART BEAST LICENSED CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, OFFERING 75 CHILDREN 0 TO 8 DYNAMIC LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THAT PROMOTES COGNITIVE, MOTOR AMD EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT WHILE ENSURING OPTIMAL WELLNESS FOR EACH CHILD OFFERING FULL TIME CARE EACH WEEKDAY, THE CENTER SERVES ALL CHILDREN, INCLUDING CHILDREN OF WAKING THE VILLAGE.
