PROMOTE AND SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF WOMEN IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS, AND ADDRESS THE DISPARITIES IN CALIFORNIA AND THE PERSONS FILLING THESE KEY
Annual California Women of the Year recognition event at State Capitol (MARCH 2018). This well-established annual event, the largest annual expenditure of WICL, recognizes California women leaders in business, government, education, technology, the arts and human rights, by supporting their visit to the State Capitol for recognition by the California State State Legislature, and the Governor's administration. This is in direct fulfilment of the established purpose of WICL to promote public education regarding the critical significance of women in the history of the development of the State of California, their leadership among the diverse cultures that comprise California's population and who have contributed to its global standing.
The annual Women in California Leadership public policy retreat brings together members of the California Women's Caucus to discuss legistlative priorities and issues afftecting women for the upcoming legislative year.
Featured Presentation of "RBG" Movie (June 2018). WICL hosted a community and region-wide airing of the underscoring the need for Hollywood presentation of women in strong, lead entertainment roles, capable of generating commercial success in the industry, in keeping with the established purposes of the organization.
