Organizations Filed Purposes: YDN'S MISSION IS TO CREATE LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCES FOR YOUTH TO THRIVE AND SUCCEED

Form 990, Part III, Line 4A Program Service Accomplishments:YDN is proud to have worked with over 7500 team members from over 500 unique organizations, over the last 5 years. YDN has provided an array of customized developmental solutions to Educational and Business Organizations that are dedicated to building environments and cultures where people are valued for who they are and encouraged to become their best. 2019 key accomplishments: 2,569 clients served in 2019 from over 277 unique organizations, departments, school sites, districts, and businesses. Strengths Development:1,437 participants / 166 unique entities discovered their top 5 talent themes using the CliftonStrengths by Gallup assessment tool & took the next step to incorporate strengths into the culture of their organizations. These organizations have taken the knowledge they gained and developed policies and procedures that support a strengths-based culture. They have created environments that give their teams a common language, helps them recognize their strengths, and allows them to use their talents at work every day.Strengths Development Coaching - YDN support does not end with trainings, we believe training sessions are just the beginning. 6 individuals / 1 organization took their strengths journey even deeper with Adrian Ruiz, Certified Gallup Strengths Coach. Youth Development Youth Engagement Organizational Development: Over 124 adults from 71 programs, schools & organizations enhanced their skillset and added new tools to their teaching, facilitation and youth development/youth engagement activities and knowledge base. 175 young people from 19 different schools & programs throughout the Northern and Southern California were engaged in workshops and strength-based activities as they learned more about the bright spots and talents they hold within themselves. Activities and knowledge that enhance their confidence as youth leaders and provides them the relationships needed to share their voice and make a difference.114 individuals from 4 sites from the City of Sacramentos Youth, Programs, Community Enrichment took part in Program Quality Assurance sessions to help improve their programs for their young people.Community Events85 individuals from 22 organizations journeyed to further their skills in community offerings such as strengths, strengths-based leadership and youth development. Student Leadership Programs SJUSD Student Leadership SWAV (Students With A Voice) 2nd year. 42 high school students / 3 school sites participated in a series of leadership sessions throughout the school year.To kick-off the SWAV program of the 2019-2020 school year, YDN along with a small cohort of SJUSD Student Peer Facilitators hosted 41 rising leaders in the SJUSD Youth Leadership Summer Outdoor Camp during a 3-day/2-night program in the Santa Cruz mountains. Grants Advisory Board of Youth (GABY): The Sacramento Region Community Foundation partnered with, YDN for a 4th year, to oversee the GABY program. Ten (10) high school juniors/seniors gained a stronger understating of philanthropic and community endeavors. This year's theme was "Equity Empowered by Youth-led Change". The Board awarded $5,550 in grants to eight organizations supporting an array of programs and projects that included services to underprivileged youth, youth-led science teaching workshops, creating a PSA video to bring awareness about domestic violence in the community shining a light on topics that is not talked about as much, coming together to fight climate change, mental health awareness, raise awareness for autism and providing support to those who are dealing with it and installing hydration stations to promote reusable water bottle and lessen the use of plastics. Projects awarded:- 4-H On the Wild Side- Black Girl Pain No Longer Ignored- Earth Day Climate Strike- Elementary Enrichment Initiative- Innovative Leaders Encouraging the Advancement of Diversity- MAPS Sensory Garden- Race Against Waste: Reducing Waste and Hydrating the Community- Healthy Choices & Behaviors Conference and Convenings: Over 260 attendees engaged in the workshops and keynote presentation YDN team members facilitated during the 2019 year. The key purpose of these events is to provide participants with a forum to gain the resources and tools that will spark ideas, provoke thoughtful dialog and help people feel emotionally connected to important concepts for improving their lives and the lives of the people they serve.
