Organizations Filed Purposes:
Founded in 2009, Banding Togethers mission is to bring music opportunities to individuals with special needs in the San Diego community by providing music therapy scholarships, free Jam Session programs, mentorships, and instruments. To date, Banding Together has awarded over 200 music therpay and adapted music lesson scholarships.
Music therapy services for people with various disabilities to improve their social behavioral language skills and concentration to enhance their quality of life and enable them to better function in the community.
Jam Sessions served 4 San Diego locations Carlsbad, Point Loma, El Cajon and Chula Vista and 1 pilot program in Miami Florida gants helped fund both Music Man and Next For Autism. These are free events for the special needs community ages 13 and up to learn social skills through music and peer mediation.
Shine - created band of teens and young adults with disabilities to rehearse bimonthly to prepare for 2020 musical production of Jason Mrazs Shine funded by Jason Mraz Foundation grant.
Scholarships awarded 24 music therapy scholarships and 4 camp jam scholarhips in 2019.
