BY PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE SOCIAL SERVICES IN A SAFE AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT, WE ENCOURAGE THOSE WE SERVE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THEIR LIVES. WE ARE COMMITTED TO SERVING WITH INTEGRITY, RESPECT AND DIGNITY.
Christie's Place delivers free of charge, county-wide comprehensive support services targeting women, children and families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. The coordinated services center creates access to a comprehensive array of integrated HIV related care and support services in a safe, supportive, home-like environment. The coordination and integration of services is designed to bring women and families out of isolation, to provide mutual support and to ensure access to and participation in the full continuum of HIV care and treatment. The coordinated services center provides and/or houses the following bilingual services; benefits counseling and access; childrens/family recreational events; emergency food; education; information and referral services; leadership/empowerment trainings; medication adherence counseling; support groups; et al.
Christies Place provides training and social opportunities for women living with HIV to empower them to speak about their journeys, how they successfully link to and retain medical care and support, and ways to effectively combat isolation and stigma in their communities. Christies Place also offers networking events and capacity building trainings to medical and non-medical HIV service providers on topics including trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and racial justice in order to increase knowledge and efficacy in working with communities disproportionately impacted by HIV.
