WE ALSO CONVENED LOCAL BREWERS WITH INTEREST IN UTILIZING PORT SERVICES FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE SUPPLY CHAINS AND EDC COMPLETED A TRUCKING STUDY PROVIDING INSIGHTS INTO COMPETITIVENESS OF SHIPPING FROM PORT OF SAN DIEGO AS COMPARED TO PORT OF LOS ANGELES/LONG BEACH.

THE INTRODUCTION OF NONSTOP SERVICE TO FOREIGN METROS LEADS TO SIGNIFICANT INCREASES IN FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT FROM THOSE COUNTRIES. AS A RESULT, WTC WORKS WITH AIRPORT AUTHORITY TO EXPAND INTERNATIONAL ROUTE SERVICE AND WITH AIRLINES TO ENSURE THEY ARE MAXIMIZING OPPORTUNITIES TO ENGAGE THE SAN DIEGO BUSINESS COMMUNITY. WE AGGREGATED PUBLIC AND INTERNALLY-TRACKED ECONOMIC DATA ON BUSINESS CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN SAN DIEGO AND TWO PROSPECTIVE DIRECT FLIGHTS. WE ALSO FACILITATED ROUNDTABLES WITH BUSINESS LEADERS AND REPRESENTATIVES OF BRITISH AIRWAYS AND LUFTHANSA. WE ORGANIZE TRADE MISSIONS TO HIGHLIGHT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS IN KEY INTERNATIONAL MARKETS AND CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR FUTURE COLLABORATION. EDC/WTC CALLED ON JAL AIRLINES WITH AIRPORT REPRESENTATIVES PART OF THE 2018 TOKYO TRADE MISSION AND BEGAN PREPARATIONS FOR A TRADE MISSION TO GERMANY IN 2019 WHERE AIRPORT OFFICIALS WILL ALSO PARTICIPATE IN MEETINGS WITH LUFTHANSA.
