Organizations Filed Purposes: Our mission is to support systemic approaches that promote civilizational change for the long-term wellbeing of people and the planet.

(1) In 2020, we created and catalyzed solutions for long-term, global, urban water security by: a) bringing together 150 people from 15 different countries, representing 38 organizations and 6 sectors of society at the first W12 event, Cities Facing Escalating Water Shortages, in Cape Town, South Africa; b) establishing the W12 Blueprint, a UNESCO supported tool with cutting-edge information for city-level decision-makers who need to make their city water secure. No such framework or tool currently exists for those who work at the nexus of water and cities; and c) continued bringing together leaders in the water security arena in virtual think tanks, moderated by our water project staff.

(4) We empowered global systems change by translating research into environmental solutions by: a) co-authoring "The New Possible," an anthology of visions for our world post-COVID19, b) launching via an online hosted event the Wellbeing Economy Alliance California hub, which included brainstorming a vision for wellbeing in the state, and c) hosting zoom conversations with small groups of participants from around Vermont to highlight priorities for a long-term sustainability plan.

(3) In 2020, we connected local leaders and experts to facilitate projects that reshape societal systems toward an ecological civilization by: a) coordinating scholarly, cultural, and social interaction between West and East, strengthening international correspondence, promoting peer-to-peer learning, and leading events where ideas and best practices for solving concrete problems are shared; b) promoting the ecological civilization paradigm by co-sponsoring events with partners in Seoul and Dobong-gu, Republic of Korea, and c) facilitating, with our Korean team, trilateral cooperation between local governments, universities, and civil society in order to strengthen local self-sufficiency, and working with partners to establish a five-year plan for ecological transition education in K-12 education, including economic reforms that respond to social inequalities and environmental change.
