NFAR IS DEDICATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT, EXPANSION AND SUPPORT OF AUTISM PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM.
NFAR Tech vocational training program. Unemployment for those with autism is 85. With roughly half a million autistic children in the U.S. reaching adulthood over the next decade, NFAR recognizes the urgent need to prepare those with autism for employment. Officially launched in 2015, NFAR Tech is a comprehensive 7-month training program specifically designed to prepare young adults with autism for careers in the high tech industry as entry level software testers. This program addresses the most common barriers autistic individuals face when seeking employment. With a 93 placement rate, NFAR is helping to change the employment trajectory for young adults with autism.
NFAR Works vocational training program. Modeled after NFAR Tech, NFAR Works is designed for individuals with autism that have a broader range of interests and abilities. NFAR Works was launched in 2019 and offers basic skills training, soft skills training, work experience/vocational training and job readiness in the light manufacturing and office sectors.
Community Outreach program builds community awareness, including Autism-at-Work initiatives. The Educational program works with educational organizations to improve social skills and communications skills.
