San Diego is home to more than 35,000 torture survivors. Survivors of Torture, International SURVIVORS creates a welcoming community allowing torture survivors to rebuild their lives and regain hope when all hope was lost. Each year, SURVIVORS provides healing services to hundreds of underserved torture survivors, plus newcomer youth, who have fled their homelands to seek safe asylum or refuge in the United States. Services include therapy, psychiatry, as well as medical and social services case management. Additionally, SURVIVORS offers medical affidavits and psychological evaluations, documentation critical for asylum cases. All services are free of charge for our clients to heal.
