Despite the pandemic shutting down basically all rugby in 2020, the US Rugby Foundation was still able to provide support to the sport in many areas. We purchased nearly 4,000 rugby balls for our A Ball 4 All grant program. We awarded nearly 2,000 of those balls for 2020 ball grants and expect to award the other 2,000 balls through 2021 ball grants. We also issued 14 college scholarships through our four different scholarship programs. Just prior to the full COVID shutdown, we also were able to provide three player High Performance grants and four coaching grants to attend the Rugby Atlanta Players and Coaches courses. We also provided grants to the M.I.T. Mens and the Queens University of Charlotte?s Womens Rugby programs.
The pandemic also made us change our strategy for our annual U.S. Rugby Hall of Fame Induction Dinner. Usually one of our biggest revenue streams, the live Hall of Fame event was also one of our most popular and well-attended events. As the pandemic made an in-person event out of the question, we decided to have a virtual Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Working with a production company and getting video submissions from rugby players across the United States and the world, we aired our virtual Hall of Fame event on Saturday, November 14. It was well-received by the rugby community and those who were being honored this year.
Just before the pandemic shut down most sporting events in America, the LA 7s (change USA 7s event to LA 7s event on 990) took place at the end of February. We were able to host our annual golf tournament, the Scrumble, and it was another nice affair enjoyed by many. We also rented an area inside the stadium. This venture didn?t make us any money but did create favorable exposure to a number of individuals within the US Rugby community.
