Callisto Campus is a web-based college sexual assault reporting platform designed to provide a more empowering reporting experience for survivors, and facilitate the identification of repeat perpetrators. During the 2018/2019 academic year, Callisto served twelve campuses with over 90,000 students. Callisto allows survivors to preserve evidence on their own terms, at a time and place that is best for them. The recorded information is encrypted in such a way that no one can see the details of a record without the explicit consent of the survivor. The platform facilitates detailed and credible reporting for survivors who choose to report. Universities that partner with Callisto receive an institution-specific Callisto website (including custom content on reporting options and resources), along with training and materials to support deploying the system on their campus.
In November 2018, Callisto launched a private beta of a new product, "Callisto Expansion," to support startup founders who have experienced sexual assault or professional sexual coercion. Approximately 1,600 individuals were invited to the beta, through which they could enter into Callisto's repeat offender detection system, where they could "match" with other victims of the same perpetrator. If more than one individual named the same perpetrator, they would be connected with an attorney who could advise them on their options and facilitate coordination with other victims of the same perpetrator. The technology was built to optimize for user agency, security, and privacy, and employed cutting-edge methods of data encryption. This pilot was completed in July 2019, and provided valuable insights that were applied to Callistos next generation campus product releasing in late 2020.
