Promotes dance in the Bay Area through a diverse range of cultural dance and theater and assists in the development of original works.
Fiscal Sponsorship - Dancers Group worked with and supported the performance projects and educational activities for 125 San Francisco Bay Area based choreographers, dance companies, and community dance projects through our fiscal sponsorship program, which provided them with much needed administrative and financial oversight, as well as mentorship. Dancers Group met with the leaders of our sponsored projects in person and also communicated via email and phone about their work and activities. We also oversaw each projects fundraising activity and ensured funding agencies and contributors that donations and grants received on behalf of the artists/projects were well-managed and funds were disbursed according to the grant proposal and their guidelines. continued in Schedule O
Dancers Group Membership - Membership is the primary unifying force of Dancers Group. Our members receive a variety of thoughtful benefits and services that help keep them informed and connected to whats happening in dance in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. 2019 benefits included In Dance ten issues a year weekly emails featuring auditions, jobs, free and discounted tickets, news and more Grant Deadlines Weekly Performance Reminders Artist Resources, and discounts on services and programs. Dancers Group has continued to create significant value in membership, providing access to information, opportunity, and resources that are truly need as a result, membership numbers increased in 2019 by 10 1,743 members as of Dec 31, 2019.
Dancers Group Presenting Series - Our highest profile presenting program that is offered FREE to the public, is Bay Area Dance Week, our community building program that reached over 22,000 in 2019 and is a celebration of free public dance events, that celebrated its 21st year of bringing all dance, all week, all free to the public in 2019. Dancers Group continued the Rotunda Dance Series, in partnership with World Arts West, to present free dance performances in San Francisco City Hall each month for Free.
