Building healthier, more equitable workplaces: Empower Work provides support via SMS for workers facing critical work issues. Our volunteer peer counselors combine coaching and resources to help someone take a next step, improving their mental health and economic well-being.
Empower Work is on a mission to build healthier, more equitable workplaces where employees are valued, supported, and empowered. Our approach fuels positive change in three ways: 1) Improved economic and emotional well-being for under-served workers via immediate, confidential SMS support, 2) Improved workplace practices through training for volunteer peer counselors and companies creating a ripple effect across workplaces, and 3) Systemic workplace change as our data and storytelling informs new approaches, training, & policy. In 2020, over 91% of those we supported reported improved mental health, and reported feeling, empowered, relieved, less stressed, unstuck, able to take action. 90% of volunteers say volunteering and training have improved work relationships.
