Organizations Filed Purposes: Envelop's mission is to unite humanity through profound communal listening experiences. We achieve our mission through community-supported immersive listening spaces, inspiring events, educational workshops, and free spatial audio software tools. Our immersive audio venues provide a space to deeply listen together. We host events ranging from live performances and listening events, to wellness experiences and immersive audio education featuring Envelop for Live our open-source spatial audio production toolkit. With locations in San Francisco, and Salt Lake City, a Pop-up space that can go anywhere, and an online listening space, Envelop strives to share the social and emotional benefits of immersive listening with diverse communities. Envelop leads the future of immersive listening, bringing us back to our ancestral connection to sound, and enjoying the social and emotional benefits of listening together.

To provide public venues for the creation and performance of immersive music; to provide free and open-source software to the public for the composition of immersive music; to educate the public about immersive music and the social-emotional benefits of listening together.

We built and operate Envelop SF, a music venue open to the public in San Francisco, California. We started work on the build out of the space in January, 2015. We opened for our first public events in March, 2017. The space was completed in December, 2017. We host a variety of events (5-10 events) every month, including live concerts, album listening sessions, yoga, meditation, educational workshops, and studio sessions. These events at our venue help us advance our purpose of bringing immersive music and collective listening to the public. We also create free and open-source software called Envelop for Live, which are tools for artists and musicians who wish to compose immersive music for playback or live performance at an Envelop venue and other venues that support surround sound, or for playback on virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) systems. These tools help us advance our purpose by fostering the creation of immersive music content and making it very easy and inexpensive for musicians to start composing immersive music. The first beta version of Envelop for Live was created in 2015, and we made a general release available to the public in May, 2018. These tools are written by numerous programmers across the United States and the world.
