THE STUDENTS RISING ABOVE (SRA) COMMUNITY IS DEDICATED TO IMPACTING THE FUTURE THROUGH THE CULTIVATION OF EXTRAORDINARY YOUTH. SRA INVESTS IN LOW-INCOME, FIRST GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENTS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED A DEEP COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION AND STRENGTH OF CHARACTER IN OVERCOMING TREMENDOUS ODDS OF POVERTY, HOMELESSNESS AND NEGLECT. WE HELP EACH STUDENT TO REALIZE HIS OR HER POTENTIAL BY GUIDING AND SUPPORTING THE STUDENT THROUGH COLLEGE GRADUATION, AND INTO THE WORKFORCE. OUR GRADUATES ARE BREAKING THE CYCLE OF POVERTY WITHIN THEIR OWN FAMILIES, SERVING THEIR COMMUNITIES, PROVIDING A NEW GENERATION OF EMPLOYEES AND LEADERS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS, AND ACCELERATING POSITIVE CHANGE.

SRA SUPPORTS LOW-INCOME, FIRST-GENERATION STUDENTS IN REALIZING THEIR POTENTIAL BY GUIDING THEM THROUGH COLLEGE AND INTO THE WORKFORCE. SRA'S THREE TIERS OF PROGRAMMING INCLUDE A ONE-ON-ONE ADVISING PROGRAM, A PEER-BASED MENTORSHIP PROGRAM, AND A TECHNOLOGY-BASED SOCIAL ENTERPRISE TOOL. SRA'S LEGACY PROGRAM, RISING STARS, PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE ONE-ON-ONE ADVISING AND MENTORING, COLLEGE APPLICATION SUPPORT, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO COVER UNMET STUDENT EXPENSES, HEALTH CARE NAVIGATION, SOCIOEMOTIONAL SUPPORT, FINANCIAL LITERACY, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIPS, AND CAREER PREPARATION AND GUIDANCE. EXPERIENCED COLLEGE AND CAREER ADVISORS SUPPORT STUDENTS FROM THEIR FINAL YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL THROUGH COLLEGE GRADUATION. THE SRA HUB IS A UNIQUE ONLINE PLATFORM THAT SCALES SRA'S SERVICES, CREATING TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE FOR LOW-INCOME, FIRST-GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF GEOGRAPHY. THE SRA HUB PROVIDES PROGRAMS, SERVICES, AND RESOURCES TO ENRICH STUDENTS' SKILLS AND CAPACITIES FOR POST-SECONDARY READINESS, COLLEGE COMMITMENT, AND CAREER EXPLORATION. IT ALSO OFFERS AN ALWAYS-AVAILABLE SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY WITH LIVE WEBINARS, SELF-GUIDED LEARNING, A COMPREHENSIVE LIBRARY OF ARTICLES AND INTERACTIVE TOOLS, AND SUPPORT FROM TRAINED COLLEGE AND CAREER ADVISORS. STUDENTS ONLINE ACHIEVING RESULTS ("SOAR") IS SRA'S VIRTUAL ADVISING PROGRAM. SOAR COMBINES THE SCALABILITY OF THE SRA HUB WITH THE PERSONALIZED SUPPORT OF ASSIGNED COLLEGE AND CAREER ADVISORS THROUGH VIRTUAL STUDENT COHORTS AND COORDINATED LESSON PLANS. SOAR PROGRAMMING IS OFFERED TO STUDENTS AS A COMPONENT OF THE SRA HUB, THROUGH BOTH COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS AND SRA-LED COHORTS. IN DECEMBER 2019, SRA RECEIVED AN ANONYMOUS DONATION IN THE INITIAL AMOUNT OF $5.5 MILLION ("GIFT PROCEEDS") INTENDED TO ELIMINATE STUDENT LOAN DEBT FOR CERTAIN UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE ALUMNI OF SRA'S RISING STARS PROGRAM. UNDER THE GIFT AGREEMENT, SRA WOULD ESTABLISH AND ADMINISTER A PROGRAM (THE "ALUMNI LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM") AND DISBURSE THE GIFT PROCEEDS. THE ALUMNI LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM WAS ANNOUNCED IN MAY 2020, AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE GIFT PROCEEDS FOR ALUMNI LOAN REPAYMENT WILL BE MADE IN THE PERIOD SUBSEQUENT TO JUNE 30, 2020.
