FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS, FUTURES HAS BEEN PROVIDING GROUNDBREAKING PROGRAMS, POLICIES, AND CAMPAIGNS THAT EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD.
CHILDREN/YOUTH/YOUNG FAMILIES - FUTURES IS A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED ORGANIZATION PREVENTING AND ADDRESSING CHILDHOOD EXPOSURE TO VIOLENCE. OUR WORK ADVANCES ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITIES AND STRENGTHENS CHANGE LEADERSHIP IN GOVERNMENT, CHILD WELFARE, EDUCATION, AND HUMAN SERVICES FOR FAMILIES IMPACTED BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (DV). IN 2019, WE ENGAGED SYSTEMS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SERVING 1 - 3 MILLION YOUNG PEOPLE AND CULTURALLY SPECIFIC, COMMUNITY-BASED PROVIDERS SERVING INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES AND FAMILIES OF COLOR. WE AIM TO: 1) CATALYZE SCALABLE PROGRAM, PRACTICE, AND POLICY INNOVATIONS TO INCREASE IMPACT FOR DV PREVENTION AND RESPONSE, AND 2) STRENGTHEN DV EVIDENCE BUILDING WITHIN NON-PROFITS AND PUBLIC SECTOR. OUR PLATFORMS (CHANGING MINDS INITIATIVE, THE PROMISING FUTURES NATIONAL CAPACITY CENTER, THE OFFICE OF HEAD START'S NATIONAL CENTER ON PARENT FAMILY, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND THE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT CENTER ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CHILD WELFARE) ENGAGED INNOVATORS AND LEADERS FROM 18 STATES AND PUERTO RICO TRAINING 1600+ PARTICIPANTS, FULFILLED 109,521 REQUESTS FOR PRACTICE PRODUCTS, SAW 91,031 UNIQUE WEBSITE HITS YIELDING 11,718 DOWNLOADS OF MATERIALS, AND PROVIDED MONTHLY COACHING/TA TO 135+ SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS IN CHILD WELFARE SYSTEMS, DV STATE COALITIONS, AND PROGRAMS WHO SERVICE FATHERS, PEOPLE WHO USE VIOLENCE, AND CHILD AND ADULT SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
HEALTH - AS THE NATIONAL HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (HRC) SINCE 1993, FUTURES HAS BEEN A LEADER WORKING ACROSS SECTORS TO ADVANCE QUALITY HEALTH CARE AND SAFETY SUPPORT FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE. WE PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE LATEST RESEARCH, TRAINING, AND RESOURCES AND HELP BRIDGE THE GAPS BETWEEN DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE ADVOCATES, HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS, AND HEALTH POLICY LEADERS TO PROMOTE A MORE HOLISTIC APPROACH TO HEALTH CARE AND ADVOCACY FOR SURVIVORS OF VIOLENCE. WE RECENTLY WERE SELECTED TO RUN THE NATIONAL HEALTH NETWORK ON INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING - LEADING THE NATION'S COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER RESPONSE TO IPV/HT. IN 2019, WE PROVIDED DIRECT TRAINING TO OVER 6,000 PROFESSIONALS AND LED OR ATTENDED OVER 90 MEETINGS, WORKSHOPS, WEBINARS, OR CONFERENCES. ADDITIONALLY, WE RESPONDED TO MORE THAN 4,000 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REQUESTS AND DISSEMINATED OVER 800,000 EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS. WE CONTINUE TO LEAD STATE-WIDE AND OTHER NATIONAL INITIATIVES TO PIONEER BEST PRACTICES AND POLICIES TO ADDRESS THE UNIQUE HEALTH NEEDS OF SURVIVORS OF VIOLENCE AND PROMOTE PREVENTION.
FUTURES LEADS THE ONLY NATIONAL RESOURCE CENTER DEDICATED TO PREVENTING AND IMPROVING RESPONSES TO DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE, SEXUAL HARASSMENT, AND STALKING IMPACTING WORKERS AND THE WORKPLACE. FUTURES PROVIDES TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ADVOCATES, EMPLOYERS, WORKERS, AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO EQUIP THEM WITH THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO BETTER SUPPORT VICTIMS OF ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION.
