Organizations Filed Purposes:
The GLBT Historical Society collects, preserves, exhibits and makes available to the public materials and knowledge to support and promote understanding of LGBTQ history, culture and arts in all their diversity.
Archives Program: We collect, process, and make historical archival materials available to researchers.
Museum Program: The GLBT Historical Society Museum in San Francisco remains a key setting for the GLBT Historical Society to share our past with LGBTQ and non-LGBTQ publics and to advocate for the preservation of queer history and culture. Visitors and media from around the world continue to make the museum a significant cultural destination in the city.
Public Education Program: In order to expand our LGBTQ educational outreach beyond our archives and museum, we have formalized a Public Education Program which includes collaborative work with partner organizations and public communications including newsletters and social media.
