Imagine H2O empowers people to deploy and develop innovation to solve water challenges globally. Through its annual accelerator, Imagine H2O identifies and supports water innovators and startups demonstrating commercial viability and impact potential.
Imagine H2O supported 26 water entrepreneurs from 12 countries in 2019. Each of Imagine H2Os entrepreneurs are at the forefront of innovation in the context of the U.N. Development Goal 6 - clean water and sanitation for all. The 2019 program participants collectively received more than 1,000 hours of mentorship from our community of experts. Imagine H2O also hosted 29 virtual training sessions, providing insight and learning opportunities related to entrepreneurial success and impact. And, program participants reported that they made 50% faster progress with Imagine H2O toward commercializing their solutions. The organization also provided over $400,000 in award funding to support technology deployments in high-impact communities globally.
Imagine H2O ASIA We made significance progress in 2019 toward globalizing our mission and programming. This included the official launch of Imagine H2O Asia, an accelerator in Singapore to develop and scale water startups across Southeast Asia. This program received founding support from Enterprise Singapore, in addition to convening a network of stakeholders in the municipal water sector, academia, private industry, and development institutions. The inaugural program supported 8 startups selected from a field of over 110 applicants. The participants received over 150 hours of direct mentorship and received market introductions resulting a series of commercial deployments, including 2 projects with Singapores national water utility.
URBAN WATER CHALLENGE Imagine H2Os 2nd annual Urban Water Challenge provided $250,000 to six winning entrepreneurs working in the U.S., Colombia, India, Kenya, Namibia, and Vietnam. This program has now provided over $1 million in direct award funding and investment opportunities through its partners. The 2019 winners were honored at a ceremony hosted at the Stockholm International Water Week in Sweden.
