John Burton Advocates for Youth continues to ensure that extended foster care remains implemented as intended through policy advocacy and the training of local county administrators and providers. Prevent unplanned pregnancies: John Burton Advocates for Youth works with counties to implement evidence-based pregnancy prevention practices and advocates for better policies at the state level to prevent unplanned pregnancy among older youth in foster care. Advocate for youth with physical and mental disabilities: John Burton Advocates for Youth has worked to ensure that youth with disabilities make a safe, supported transition from foster care by working to pass state laws to ensure they have access to Supplemental Security Income (SSI) upon Continued on Schedule O.
