REHABILITATION SERVICES AND BLINDNESS SKILLS - THE LIGHTHOUSE OFFERS TAILORED, ONE-ON-ONE AND CLASSROOM-BASED EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO SUPPORT AN INDIVIDUALS BLINDNESS REHABILITATION NEEDS, INCLUDING BRAILLE INSTRUCTION, COOKING AND KITCHEN SAFETY AND DAILY LIVING SKILLS. SERVICES OFFERED INCLUDE CHANGING VISION CHANGING LIVES CLASSES, ORIENTATION AND MOBILITY TRAINING, INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOLOGICAL CARE, A LOW VISION CLINIC WHICH OFFERS EVALUATION AND FOLLOW-UP ASSESSMENTS, TECHNOLOGY TRAINING, AN EMPLOYMENT PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM, AND DEAF-BLIND EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTION AND TRAINING. STUDENTS ATTEND TRAINING ON A WEEKLY BASIS OR THROUGH IMMERSIVE GROUP-LEARNING FACILITATED BY OUR DORMITORY-STYLE RESIDENCES. LIGHTHOUSE ALSO PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE COMMUNITY ABOUT ADVOCACY, EMPLOYMENT AND TRANSPORTATION ACCESS AND OUR MEDIA AND ACCESSIBLE DESIGN LAB PRODUCES CUSTOM BRAILLE, MAP AND OTHER TACTILE DESIGN PRODUCTS FOR CORPORATE CLIENTS AROUND THE WORLD LOOKING TO IMPROVE THEIR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ACCESSIBILITY.
