Small Business Assistance & Public Space Activation:Livable City assisted low-income communities respond to the economic and mental health impacts of COVID-19 with individual small business assistance and public space activations in 2020. Using the Shared Spaces and Play Streets programs, Livable City assisted over 15 small businesses expand their operations outdoors, organized and co-presented economic recovery street activations in Chinatown, SoMa, Excelsior and Bayview, and provided open space relief for families and small businesses in the Tenderloin throughout the spring, summer and fall of 2020.
Livable neighborhoods:Livable Citys Livable Neighborhoods campaign fosters neighborhoods that are compact, mixed-use, diverse, healthy, accessible, green, affordable, and accessible. 2020 program accomplishments include developing and advocating programs and planning reforms to support neighborhood-serving small businesses, arts and culture, and community institutions and foster diverse housing, and advocating for safer and greener streets.
