Committed to providing accessible, high quality arts experiences for adults, children, and families, MCD's signature MakeArt programs inspire participants of all ages to celebrate creativity and develop an understanding of craft and design through art making. In addition to programs such as MakeArt Family Days, Free First Tuesdays, and dynamic new after-hours events, MCD has a rich history of providing educational programs that supplement school curriculum and reach out to underserved communities at schools, libraries, and communities across the Bay Area.
Museum Store: Voted as the "Best Museum Store" in San Francisco by San Francisco Magazine, MCD's exquisite store features a thoroughly curated selection of contemporary craft and design objects as well as one-of-kind items including art jewelry, relevant publications, toys, ceramics, glass, and branded products. The MCD store creates the opportunity for visitors to extend their museum experience, offering some of the best examples of contemporary craft and design items sourced from local, national, and international makers and designers, with a focus on local creators.
