Organizations Filed Purposes: MUSO'S MISSION IS TO ELIMINATE PREVENTABLE DEATHS ROOTED IN POVERTY. WE ENVISION A WORLD IN WHICH NO ONE DIES WAITING FOR HEALTH CARE.

EACH YEAR, MILLIONS OF PEOPLE LIVING IN POVERTY DIE OF CURABLE DISEASES BECAUSE THEY DO NOT GET HEALTH CARE IN TIME. TO DELIVER UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE AT SCALE AND END THE CHILD AND MATERNAL MORTALITY CRISES, MUSO COLLABORATES WITH GOVERNMENTS TO DESIGN, TEST, AND DEPLOY COMMUNITY-BASED HEALTH SYSTEMS THAT DELIVER CARE WITH SPEED: TO ALL PATIENTS WHO NEED IT, WHEN THEY NEED IT. COMMUNITIES WHERE MUSO HAS WORKED FOR MORE THAN A DECADE HAVE THE LOWEST RATES OF CHILD MORTALITY IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA. MUSO SEEKS TO MAKE THIS THE STORY OF OUR WORLD BY ADVANCING A NEW MODEL OF CARE FOR COMMUNITY-BASED HEALTH SYSTEMS.

HEALTH CARE DELIVERY, EMBEDDED RESEARCH, AND LEARNING AND INNOVATION: THE MAIN CAUSES OF PREVENTABLE DEATH WORK QUICKLY. IN TRADITIONAL HEALTH CARE MODELS, PATIENTS FACE BARRIERS TO ACCESSING CARE SUCH AS COST, TRANSPORTATION, AND GENDER DISCRIMINATION, OFTEN CAUSING PATIENTS TO ACCESS CARE LATE, OR NOT AT ALL. MUSO'S PROACTIVE CARE MODEL FOCUSES ON ULTRA-RAPID DELIVERY TO SAVE LIVES. TO ACHIEVE RAPID ACCESS TO CARE, THE PROACTIVE CARE MODEL DEPLOYS PROACTIVE, DOORSTEP HEALTH CARE: COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS (CHWS) WORKING WITHIN STRENGTHENED PUBLIC HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS ACTIVELY SEARCH FOR PATIENTS' DOOR-TO-DOOR, TO CONNECT THEM TO LIFE-SAVING SERVICES EARLY. MUSO DELIVERS PROACTIVE, LIFE-SAVING HEALTH CARE TO MORE THAN 350,000 PATIENTS IN MALI ACROSS NINE SITES IN RURAL AND PERI-URBAN AREAS. TO DRIVE NATIONAL AND GLOBAL POLICY AND PRACTICE CHANGE, MUSO BRIDGES LOCALLY-LED CARE DELIVERY WITH RIGOROUS RESEARCH AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. MUSO TESTS AND ITERATES UPON ITS APPROACH WITH ACADEMIC AND GOVERNMENT PARTNERS, PROVIDES TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO GOVERNMENTS AND OTHER IMPLEMENTERS WHO WISH TO ADOPT ITS STRATEGIES, AND SHARES RESULTS ACROSS THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY TO END THE GLOBAL CHILD AND MATERNAL MORTALITY CRISES. MUSO'S DIRECT SERVICE, OPERATIONAL RESEARCH, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE INFORM MALI'S NATIONAL HEALTH PROGRAM TO IMPROVE CARE FOR THE COUNTRY'S 19 MILLION PEOPLE. MUSO IS ALSO COMMITTED TO SERVING BEYOND MALI, SCALING TESTED STRATEGIES TO HELP STRENGTHEN HEALTH SYSTEMS GLOBALLY. AS PART OF THIS EFFORT, MUSO LAUNCHED A TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PARTNERSHIP IN COTE D'IVOIRE TO BRING ITS DEDICATED 360 SUPERVISION MODEL FOR CHWS TO SCALE NATIONALLY, TO SERVE 24 MILLION PEOPLE.
