Organizations Filed Purposes: Education of low-income tenants and workers around their special needs, and development of solutions which address those needs.

Transit to the People: POWERs Transit to the People project organizes African American, Latino, and low-income youth and adult transit riders to shift local, regional and national mass transit priorities towards the needs of working class communities of color.

Youth in Power: POWERs Youth in Power (YIP) reaches out to youth in high schools and community centers, and use their own stories and experiences to develop a vision for Bayview Hunters Point- and for the City- that can offer them and all people real opportunities for economic security and emotional and social growth.

Leadership Development: POWERs Leadership Development program brings together the members from all of the organizations membership spaces- the Bayview Organizing Project, the Women Workers Project and Youth in Power- to sharpen the members existing abilities to provide leadership. Through action, reflection, study and exposure, POWER members continue the life-long process of developing a critical consciousness as well as the ability to help cultivate the leadership of others.
